My Review

Fourth Wing fell flat for me. Violet’s love story with Xaden was childish and rushed, there was no real connection. I thought “wait when did she fall for him” where was the depth of this relationship?

“A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead” Okay… but why?

Also can we please have some background on the characters, give me something to attach to.

Spoilers about ACOTAR, Game of Thrones and Fourth Wing ahead:

Xaden reminds me of Ariel with his shadow-wielding.
Xaden’s telepathic communication with Violet reminds me of Rhys and Feyre.
- The farther away they are, they cannot communicate as well.
- Their lives are linked together.
The whole plot is from Game of Thrones
- if you kill the Venin who created them, you kill them all.
- Dragon fire does not kill them either

The “copied” characters lacked character! The “original” characters from ACOTAR were so well written and developed that Violet and Xaden are so shallow compared to Rhys, Azriel, and Feyre. The Venin copied and pasted the White Walkers. It’s just something I did not enjoy because the originals were so much better. It’s like “The Housemaid” — I definitely did not like it because it was a copy and paste from “The Last Mrs. Parrish.”
