Butcher & Black Bird Book Review
I’ve fallen into the hype of a book once again… and guess what? I ended up buying both the book and its sequel. Thankfully, I stopped short of getting the third one. Butcher & Blackbird is definitely not my cup of tea.
First off, it was way too gruesome for me. I’ve watched Criminal Minds and seen some disturbing things, but reading it and having to picture it all in my head? It’s a whole different level. And maggots as orzo pasta? Seriously, that’s just disgusting. I don’t think I’ll ever look at orzo the same way again.
On top of that, I didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters—it just felt flat and forced.

Book Quotes
There’s art in our scars. There’s wonder in the way we can heal.
― Brynne Weaver, Butcher & Blackbird
You have never been unlovable. You were just waiting for someone who will love you for who you are, not for who they want you to be. I can do that, if you’ll let me.
