My Book Suggestions

I started reading aka listening to Audible books late last year. I never found the time to pick up a book and sit down to read it. So Audible books are really convenient. Oh, and by books I mean books other than poetry. (By the way, I can never let audible read me poetry.)

I discovered Audible books through Nicole Guerrero (here is me mentioning her again) I tried Audible and at first, I did not like it.

The first book I purchased on Audible was “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*uck”.

A book that I needed because I am an anxious person and I needed to give up the idea of pleasing everyone but myself.
I read that book in bits and pieces because I wasn’t used to listening to a book while driving. I was used to my music. It took me months to get back to audible and actually find a good book.

I purchased a membership on audible. Its only 15 dollars a month and you get a credit per month and a couple audible books for free! I knew if I purchased it and I was going to pay for it monthly I had to use it!

Now I had no choice but to find an interesting book to read. I listened to so many sample books, I googled “good books” etc…
I finally decided on a book called “Girl Wash Your Face” written by Rachel Hollis.

I could not put this book down!! It hit me in the face, it was that pep talk everyone needs. I finished it and I reread a lot of parts of the book. It was that good. At the moment I’ve preordered her next book called “Girl Stop Apologizing”

After reading that book I ordered “Becoming” by Michelle Obama. Hands down a good book that teaches you that no matter where you come from you can make it. A book that pictured her life a book presented as Michelle and not the first lady. I saw that because Ms. Obama is now able to put that role down and show us her real self.
